Thanks shreksbrother! I'm sure I'll get to do the front eventually... 2011 SEL - At 195K miles the left rear bearing finally failed (noise). Re: Changing Brake Lights 2011 Taurus

No, mine has separate yellow flashers independent of the brake lights. They flash at a constant rate regardless of the brake lamp.

Looks the same as my 2013......the flasher relay goes to a fast blink indicating one of the lights is out on a given side. No change in blinker speed on yours??

2011 SEL - 172K miles. Oil every 10K, brakes, tires, plugs, battery, some light bulbs, just did 1st drain/fill on trans and coolant. Air recirc servo only issue so far. :D

Changing Brake Lights 2011 Taurus

I noticed that the 2011 Taurus SEL does not give a warning when your brake lights are out. I noticed mine by chance following the car over to the dealer for a flush. For those that are handy, it's super easy to change the lamps, but you need an 11mm deep socket. I posted a video for those that are c...

Re: can someone help me find wht this part is!?

If I find it I’ll post. I snapped both mine last night when I did mine. Good news is a small wire tie works just as well and I had a pile of those.

Changing Spark Plugs and Removing Intake Plenum Video 2011 Taurus

Changed the plugs on my 2011 SEL at 160K miles. Car was still running good but mileage had dropped to around 27. It was easier to do than I thought. I ended up snapping some of the fragile vaccuum tube clips during intake removal. The gasket and Plugs were in stock at AutoZone. Used AutoLite Iridium...

2011 Clicking in Dash

My 2011, now with 125000 miles, started making an annoying clicking noise in the dash behind the glove box when I closed the fresh air intake (enabled air recirculation)...sounded like gears stripping. Some web surfing revealed that the actuator motors have a position sensor in them that can go bad....

Re: Door panels on front doors coming loose

I've used a couple dabs of 3M silicone to hold them in place...tenuous enough to hold my boat windows in plave so figured it would be good for this. So far so good. Tape did not work for me.

Re: What DON'T you like about your Taurus?

2011 SEL: Poor visibility out the front sides and back. Wide windshield pillars, side mirror cowlings, and rear view mirror block visibility during turns and block critical view of people in crosswalks. Steering wheel blocks instruments. Center console wide and makes front seats cramped. Left wheel ...

Re: Recent Brake Change

The front pads are also different based on the suspension, although either pad will fit. Suspension code E (not sure how to determine from vin) has pads that are curved on both long sides (c shaped) and no springs (MKD1158 from auto zone). The regular suspension has one flat side and one curved (d s...

Re: 2011 Ford Taurus Stalled, engine and oil light on

I experienced a stall in my 2011 for the 1st time this week. It was in between shifts (down shift) coming out of a turn when I had to brake hard.... I was able to immediately start it back up from neutral while still rolling. The car handled surprisingly well while stalled and moving. No codes throw...

Re: Auto-dim mirror rattle

Thanks for the response. I'm far out of warranty and various forums document this common issue pretty well. Took less than a half hour to separate the mirror housing to secure the circuit card and plastic inner frame with a few dabs of silicone. Noise is now gone. :). My 2011 does the same thing. Wh...

Re: Auto-dim mirror rattle

My 2011 does the same thing. When I have time I was planning on opening it up and using RTV silicone to secure the parts. It's extremely annoying. I also have a high pitched rattle in the cluster somewhere I can't find.
