Re: 2015 FPIS: Trunk button not working & Fuel gauge not correct

Many depts disconnect the plug behind the trunk push button release. Mine was also. You'll need to do a little disassembly and plug in the button. Don't know if the idea was it's in a spot too easily to accidentally hit or that LEOs might have additional weaponry in the trunk that should be accessib...

Re: My 2013 Ford Taurus airbag light on after collision

Looks like he replaced the bags but not the sensors? He might not have had ANY idea what he was doing. Looks like it needs new seatbelt pretensioners and a steering column sensor. There's actually a youtube video on the column sensor for a 2013 taurus - shouldn't be hard to find. Looks like he only ...

Re: Wrecked 2013 PI

Honest input from someone who has rebuilt 2 totaled vehicles with frame damage - no, this isn't a worthwhile project. First, every state has different rebuilding requirements - make sure you are crystal clear on your state's laws. Second, rebuilding a vehicle at home (aka on the cheap) can make sens...

Yes. You should be able to add backup to your existing system. Hardware and software (forscan) upgrades required.

Lots of threads out there on this as Jake says.

1) 8" sync - if your PIS wasn't a sync car, I don't believe anyone has successfully upgraded to the factory sync 8" system. I don't watch as closely as I might have a few years ago, but we've only seen aftermarket options (and not very good options, at that). 2) Console is a direct bolt in. Wiring i...

I would be looking for a grounding issue given those symptoms, but it's impossible to diagnose over the internet.

These really are (unfortunately) the times to take it to the dealer for proper diagnoses.

appears that you need DG1Z-54061A16-AA, but it would be best for you to look at the diagram and determine if that's the part you're talking about. Also......be sure to order the right color!

Re: How wide can you go? Wheels

You could really go as wide as you want - depends on how much you want to do to make them work ($$$). I run the mustang track pack 19x9's - the rears are no problem, but fronts do rub at full lock without spacers. Of course, all oversized options are 'run at your own risk' and you should measure out...

Re: speaker recommendation

just search for 'speaker' in the top right search bar. lots of previous information with recommendations on brands/good deals. Generally, any 5x7 or 6x8 will work just fine in the doors......your rear deck upgrade is made easier/harder by what is currently in place for deck speakers

Re: connector name/type

I can't see inside to determine the pin count, but this is the kind of place that should help you locate what you need:

https://connectorexperts.com/

the cable just has the sheathing pulled back and wiring pinned for the plug. Finding the plug will tell you which pin type you need.

Re: Hood Switch Harness Installation

That's very odd - are you sure there's not a harness? I believe that all PI's came wired for the hood switch. It's especially odd that your vehicle has a switch but no harness. I suspect that it was disconnected at the time of downfitting before sale. I just had my civilian 16 explorer apart so I'm ...

fit......yes, theyd fit just fine. plug and play functionality is probably your question. 1) do either/both drivers have memory? 2) you could check electrical diagrams for both years to see if the pinouts to the seat harness are the same. I suspect they are. the seat internals/sensors have changed b...

I'm not aware of seeing any other instances with this symptom.......while I cant imagine its a hardware issue in the light, you've been through it once w 70k trouble free miles so i guess I'd throw a part at it and see if it resolves the problem. as for your repair cost anxiety, there's only two typ...

Re: center console wire harness

the civi center console comes with a harness. unless someone else has found one or the 2016's are different, there's no direct plug in connector on the PI so you just cut/solder/shrink your way to power/ground. The PI pigtails have always hot, ignitition, and door power options so you can make your ...

Re: 2010 Taurus 3.5 leaks coolant

Sorry to inform you - that's the water pump weep hole. The hole is designed to be open to allow for the natural condensation/weep that happens in all cars. Your's isn't missing anything. Unfortunately, if coolant is free flowing out of that weep hole, you've got a very, very expensive repair in fron...
