Re: Needs new transmission at 59,000 miles

Two questions:

1. How reputable are both of these shops?
2. Has a dealer actually looked at the car?

Re: 2013 Taurus ex-PI Console Final Touches

to help out with maintaining this site, i plan on donating a portion of each sale back to the webmaster. : ) That's very unnecessary, if you want to help just click the yellow Amazon link near the top right of the page before buying from Amazon, that gives us a small commission on the stuff you buy...

Re: Asia Motors Inc. of Melrose Park, IL

They seem to have carved themselves a niche of serving the more affordable price range as compared to dealers who carry "as new" cars. Most of their stuff looks pretty clean with decent miles, and the inventory is always pretty large.

Re: Cop car fascination?

My “fascination” is probably different than that of others in that I was ONLY ever interested in unmarked versions. The whole point was to have police internals without police looks, no spotlights, no antennas, no pushbars, nothing. Also, I’ve always wanted a new one, or at least as close to new as ...

wow.

$17.91 + s&h for a 2 cent piece of plastic.
Nah, it's probably a 17-cent piece. Maybe even 18.

The Ultra Grips do not come in the correct size, nor do they have any where near the load or speed rating required for an Interceptor.
Actually, they do, but they're still winter tires.

I had something similar happen on my Exploriceptor. Fixed it only by yanking both radio fuses and putting them back in.

nice find.

$ 29,651.67 US - about $3-4k over a Ford Fleet bid price (i am guessing).
The US sticker on that would have been $37,578, so probably about $28,000 fleet bid, but who knows? I love the $100 (one hundred) "federal excise tax".

I'll have to check tomorrow. I know my PI has an administrative package with factory center console and carpet. So I assume it's a factory seat correct to the car
Mine has that package, too, but the seat seems to sit normal.

Just installed 4 brand new Goodyear Ultra Grips and they are amazing, feels like a caddie lol ... ordered from tire rack ...was deciding between Ultra Grips and Enforcers but the reviews were great on the Grips ... Replaced worn out Firestone Pursuits
Ultra Grip is a winter tire, no?

Re: Interesting article from 2013 about PI AWD

Given that the PI uses "wet" clutches, how would one change out the fluid in that RDU? I have a feeling that it's sealed and no way to access that section of the RDU. I'm thinking that after a certain period time, an owner needs to change out the entire since the clutches will wear out eventually? ...

this would work better than an engine cover.

I suppose I could just go with the factory civilian Taurus hood insulator, if I go in that direction.
