Re: 60's glass pack mufflers 2011 TAURUS SHO

You'll never get the muscle sound of a Detroit V8 from a turbo V6 but you can get a really nice V6 sound from these cars. There are many choices and opinions on this and other sites from Magnaflow, Borla, Dynomax, Stainless Steel Works and many others. You will have to do some research and decide wh...

Re: More transmission issues.

There were a few (I can't remember how many but a search will help) TSB's on the 2010 transmissions. I had 2 done on mine. First a reprogram of the software and then a major one where they replaced an inner part that controls the flow of fluid. Something about less holes for the fluid to flow. Make ...

Re: Peeling Chrome on tail lights.......AGAIN!!!!

It's been reported here that in order for the 2013+ rear lights to work you have to change the trunk lid as well for the correct match. How about that??

It is most likely the blend door. Unfortunately a common issue. Covered under warranty but if you're out of warranty then I hear it's doable by the owner and not too expensive.

Re: Need parts website

I just ordered a lid for the center console from Lone Star Ford Parts. I always damage my console lids on every car I have owned. Not sure why but this one lasted 80K miles so I can't complain. Bony elbows I guess. Lone Star was the best price for a true Ford dealer that I could find. Haven't receiv...

Re: Tire recommendations for 2011 SHO?

Check out the Pirelli Cinturato P7. I have 12K miles on mine and they are terrific for the driving I do. They are smooth, handle well, work great in the rain. Only thing I haven't tried is the snow that I will be trying in a few months :( They are also rated longer for tread life than the Michelins....

Re: Windshield Wipers Don't Sweep Smoothly in My '13 SEL

My .02 here. Wipers are a wear item and the rubber hardens in the sun and the cold. A year is about right between changes. I have used RainX in the past and my experience is that as it wears the wipers may chatter even if they are in good condition. Ultimately wipers are a safety item and not that e...

Re: Pirelli p7 Cinturato Tires Ford Taurus 2013

I have a 2010 SHO and I put on a set of P7 Cinturato's about a month ago. I had previously replaced the original Michelins at 45K miles with a set of Cooper RSA's. These were pretty good and lasted about 30K miles, about what I expected. I went for the P7's because of all the positive reviews and pr...

How about peeling chrome on taillights? Seems like the engineers dropped the ball on that one. Not to open an old wound and hijack another thread ;)

Re: iOS 7.1.1 on iPhone 5s wont stream

You may have to change the input from Line In to Bluetooth. I actually go the other way because I don't want my phone automatically streaming everytime I get into the car if I'm listening to radio or satellite. I'm not exactly sure where the control for it is but I will check tomorrow if you still h...

Re: block heater cord

You could leave it under the hood and pop the hood for access. When I lived in Canada I did that because I really hated the look of the car with a power cord sticking out of the grille.

Re: gas mileage

I would give it some time to average out. My 2010 SHO is averaging 21.8 over 75000 miles. Usually around 18 city and as much as 28 highway. But being a new car, let it go at least 500 miles and see where it lands. If it's still low then a dealer trip makes sense.

Re: Peeling tailights- so disapointing

Unfortunately this is a well documented issue that is indeed troubling. This is a good car that has a build issue and Ford has not stepped up to fix it. The answer seems to be that they changed the rear light design starting with MY 2013 and they no longer are chrome surrounded. I decided not to get...

Why complain after the fact when no one forced you to buy this vehicle?quote] Sorry, I wasn't informed (or cared) enough to complain before I purchased the vehicle. Maybe next time I'll just rent one until I have a firm understanding of the quality as opposed to my initial thoughts after a simple t...

Re: Consumer Report: Cars To Avoid

Well I can say that I am proud of my ride. A 2010 SHO, Job 2 (with the trunk pullstrap) car. Visibility? As good as the competition especially with those large mirrors that set themselves automatically for each driver. Room inside? Not as much as one might think based on the size of the vehicle but ...

Re: 2014 Taurus SEL road noise

I just put on Pirelli Cinturato P7 All Season. Rated at 700 life and the quietest tire I have ever had. Much quieter than the original Michelins or the Coopers I had. Got 45000 miles on the Michelins and 30000 miles on the Coopers. Both good handling and expected wear for the Northeast where I repla...
