Hey I need some help I bought a salvage titled car from a guy who purchased it from a auction, he did his fixing up the best he could and gave up, me being the tech that I am said I’ll give it a go, I bought the car knowing there is problems. For starters the Taurus was wrecked in the right front taking out the control arm and axle, that is what he said, so he replaced both those parts plus cosmetic body pieces. I get to looking at the car and the right front wheel seems to be resesed back farther then the left side, where should I start, I performed an alignment and caster is off, caster cannot be adjusted on these cars? He also says he replaced all the airbags that deployed on the right side, which brings me to another question it has codes in the system with an airbag light on B0005, B0070, B007E, B1193. Where do I start?

Looks like he replaced the bags but not the sensors? He might not have had ANY idea what he was doing.

Looks like it needs new seatbelt pretensioners and a steering column sensor. There's actually a youtube video on the column sensor for a 2013 taurus - shouldn't be hard to find. Looks like he only did half the job!

As for your wheel.....can't see anything from the pics.

Thanks I’m going to look at the video on YouTube right now, for the wheel the first picture is the right side, to me it looks centered in the fender well and the next picture is the left wheel and it seems farther back, I aligned it and it drives right maybe I’m just being paronoid

I have to agree with you that the passenger side looks off, like it's too far to the rear of the car. Have you checked the frame rail to see if it has crumpled at all? You may want to have a body shop check the frame dimensions.

Thanks terbob3 for the reply, I had it on my lift and I couldn’t see anywhere that looked wrinkled or crunched, I was thinking maybe the subframe got pushed back a little.? Is that even a possibility without being damaged?

Morgunwa, anything is possible. That side is back further than I would be happy with. If you plan on keeping it, I myself would at least have it checked for piece of mind.
