Anyone have the instruction on how to replace the gear shift knob on a 2011 SHO. I just ordered an OEM replacement.

I just fixed my 2011 Taurus SHO. I used a plastic trim tool and a screwdriver, just pried the chrome ring ( that the leather boot is fixed to) down from the shifter handle. This exposed the two loose T20 Torx screws. Then I just pulled back up on the chrome trim ring and snapped it back in place.

Thanks guys...just the information I was looking for. Shift knob is loose after 139,000 miles on my 2010 SHO.

Best regards.

That's the part number for the shifter handle. I can find it online for around $50 or so.
What I can't find details on is does this come with the two screws? Mine has one missing.
My chrome insert is also peeling. I had this replaced several years back but what I don't k now is can I by the screws and chrome trim piece just by themselves? And does anyone have the part numbers for those two items.

Does anyone have some pictures they can post to show what trim needs to be pulled back to access the torx screws?
