Lower intake 3.8. Rivets remove/replace from pan

Post by xrilander » Tue Feb 07, 2017 12:04 pm

Snapped one of the thermostat housing bolts, long story short, purchased a brand new OEM lower intake. The new intake did not come with the flat pan on the underside, which looks to be attached with some type of compression rivets (4 of them). Of course, prying at it only bent the pan. So what's next? Chisel them off? And how the hell do I install on the new manifold, since I can't seem to find these special rivets? Thanks

Well, a screwdriver, hammer, and a pair of vice grips did the trick. The rivets are reusable, just hammer them into the new intake.
