Is it possible to use forscan to enable the speedometer rather than taking it to a dealer?

No it requires a firmware update to the cluster.

That's a shame, I was hoping for the easy route. Thanks for the update

so I recently had the update done, out of curiosity has anyone else had this done and had your steering wheel switch indicators disappear? basically It just looks like the standard ford layout, no more aux 1,2,3,4 if so any idea how to fix it?

FYI on this subject:

On my 2014 I just put on snow tires, TOYO observ studless snow tires.

They are 235/60/R18 size.

So to see if I messed up the speedo, I took the Magellan Roadmate GPS and clicked the display to mph.

I've been curious, because the digital speedo and the needle are not exactly on the same page.

With these tires, where the digital speedo says exactly 60mph, the GPS is at 61.7 and the needle agrees with the GPS.

100 mph on the needle and GPS the digital speedo is at 98.

So I grabbed another GPS, and the results were the same.

I decided that it's no big deal if the digital speedo that my wife likes says 36 and she's really doing 36 - I'm sure she won't get a ticket.

I finally got around to doing this one one of my cars. I recommend a VXDIAG VCX NANO. Full IDS software is included. No ford dealer required!

You will need to run the module extender before you program the IPC module, make sure you hook the battery up to a power source. Some computer knowledge necessary, software uses VMware.

DON'T buy from paid PI mod sites, stay away from dealer programming! message me for help or questions.

I was actually able to get a digital speedometer on my 2013 TPIS by using “Vehicle Engineering/ Test Mode in the car which can be enabled by holding the OK button on the left side of the steering wheel while turning the car on. It goes through an array of menus which you can scroll through like a dash light check and also gives you a digital speedometer and tachometer. Only downside is that you must do this procedure every time when turning the vehicle on and can is much smaller. Definitely a good way to get a digital speedometer without too much hassle.

Here’s a tutorial of someone doing it on an F-150 but is the same process on 13+ PI vehicles.
