You are talking about the retail console that has the floor shifter right? They make one for the Interceptors that doesnt have that spot for a floor shifter

To find the console, go to Fords parts website, and put in a 2014 ford taurus. Then select the Body->Console category, and when you scroll down, you should see the same part number on the left side (045A76) with the following description: Police Version With Unique Full Floor Console ; Black. It should be $169.78. Thats the whole console itself.

What are you saying? The only unique part is the finishing panel - DG1Z-54045A76-FA?
DON'T buy from paid PI mod sites, stay away from dealer programming! message me for help or questions.

I just called my local dealer Parts dept and she's trying to tell me that 045A76 is just one part of several to complete the entire Police console....I'm confused! She's saying that some of the parts are as cheap as $50, one is upwards $500!!! WTF?!

Each individual part that makes up the entire console as a whole has it's own separate part number. Ford does not have a part number and does not sell a "complete" center console assembly. It has to be purchased piece by piece.

That being said, is why you go onto Ebay and find a complete console assembly that someone is selling and purchase it that way. Remove what you don't want to use, and add what's missing on your own terms.

Easiest, cheapest, most logical way to make it happen.

The only police interceptor specific pieces that make it a different center console than the "civilian" version is....

DG1Z-54045A76-FA

and

DG1Z5404608JA

Do you have to have one "right now"? Just keep checking, they'll pop up.

Of course I don't need one "right now", just surprised at the lack of availability.

FYI, I know the link to the pic of the console before was deleted, but I finally found another one for reference to what it looks like installed on the interceptor from the factory:

You are going to have a hard time finding a used OEM console from a unit. First the sedan is the less popular between the utility and sedan. Then the sedan model with the console is only a small percentage of the overall sedan units that were produced.

As far as part # 045A76, all that is, is the metal plate where the regular taurus shifter goes. It is not the entire console.

Your local junk yard will have them, eBay prices are outrageous, I got mine with trim for $100, I took the boot from shifter sewed it shut and pushed it down, have a leather pocket now to put things in.

Try car-part.com. Found quite a few black ones listed in the $85 range. Some of these yards have pictures, some can also ship if you choose USA instead of an area (like Mid-Atlantic).

My car came with the exact console pictured above. It was a Cobb County Sheriff's Detective car and was ordered that way, with the "unique" console. I have found a couple 2010+ Taurus's at local u pull it yards and I got the shifter piece (with door on the right), and other piece below with the door instead of the open cup holders. I am debating removing the blank metal piece, and replacing it with the shifter/door piece just to have more storage space. I am used to my huge aftermarket center console from my Crown Vic.

Is part # DG1Z-54045A76-FA (the piece with the 2 12v outlets) in Steele's post/pictures only available on PI units with the full console? Ive got a gap in my civilian console (I have the same console as Steele) and that would fit perfectly .. but not at $150 through Ford!

Good luck finding one anywhere other than the dealer. Factory full console interceptors are less than 5% of the total volume, and they are almost never patrol cars, so they rarely get wrecked. You'll never find that part or the metal blank between that corner piece it and the cup holders. They are not found in any other car.

In theory the only alternative would be the radio and little bottom cubby from a Taurus SE, but the police radio requires the police outlet plate.
