El Toro Blanco

Post by Ikeholtz » Fri Mar 22, 2019 9:38 am

I recently purchased a 2013 Taurus PI, after my beloved 2011 Crown Victoria was totaled out. I purchased a former Holland Michigan PI with 99 thousand miles, 3.5 no turbo. I fell in love but like most romances it's cost me some serious dough. 2 grand all new brakes in back plus bushings.
As I write this I waiting while they replace the steering column. It was binding, hard to turn then easy then hard. I told them to check steering gear as that is a know problem with this model so we see how it comes out. My biggest issue after not being able to steer it or stop it, hopefully will be all fixed today, is it has reverse sensor (no camera) it's not working. I checked fuse, it is good. It has a trailer hitch. I think it might has been disconnected. I did check the settings on the dash board it won't let me turn on. No sure where to check next.

I have named it, El Toro Blanco.

It was the lower steering shaft. It's half in, half out of fire wall. It's a shaft with two knuckles. The out side one was bound up in one direction. Replacement part $ 644 labor $ 312. I guess car love is never free.
