How wide can you go? Wheels

Post by DkNgHt » Mon Apr 15, 2019 9:52 pm

Looking into buying new wheels, probably 20's ... I see the widest is 8.5 on tirerack, but came across a site of 9's ... I used to love my Mustang 18x10 on the rear ... Any one had any luck?

You could really go as wide as you want - depends on how much you want to do to make them work ($$$).

I run the mustang track pack 19x9's - the rears are no problem, but fronts do rub at full lock without spacers. Of course, all oversized options are 'run at your own risk' and you should measure out your options or have a professional shop do it if you're not capable.

Rule of thumb, 10mm per inch. Example;

245/55/18(stock)
255/45/19
265/35/20

This keeps you close to stock widths while allowing larger diameter.

Thanks everyone ..... Was looking at this car and fell in love with the look ... I want to go with 20's and not looking to spend $$ with an install, I did think of adding spacers to rear , I really like the staggered look
