Do P.I. trunk lids have inner linings?

I was wondering the same thing, looking at mine, I can't tell if it had it. OR, if the hood had an insulation pad on it too.

Looking at used for sale interceptor sedans, you can see they don't have liners.

Yup, they do come with it unless the previous agency removed it while in service. Mine still has it, along with a custom mounted bracket for a auxiliary battery when it was previously used on the force (for easier wiring, etc).

Is there any benefit to adding the linings? Is it just for noise reduction?

Find that hard to believe for the hood. It's not an insulator as much as a fire extinguisher.

True. You can get them from a damaged FPIS if you get lucky.

My 2017 (which was brand new for all purposes) also didn't have either one.
