Would 2011 Limited seats fit in a 2016 SE?

fit......yes, theyd fit just fine. plug and play functionality is probably your question.

1) do either/both drivers have memory?
2) you could check electrical diagrams for both years to see if the pinouts to the seat harness are the same. I suspect they are. the seat internals/sensors have changed between those years, but that may not impact plug/play.

Turns out that it is pretty complicated to find a complete set of seats. Plus most junk yards do not like trade-ins (of the cloth seats) and/or do not install seats.

Katzkin and other aftermarket leather is insanely expensive: $1800.

FWIW I swapped the cloth seats in my 2011 SE Flex for the leather seats from a 2011 SEL Flex for $500. $100 each for the front seats, $100 each for the captains chairs and $100 for the 3rd row seats. Drove about 150 miles to pick them up. Swapped the cloth split 60-40 bench 2nd row for the leather captains chairs in their parking lot and just left it there.
Went from the 6 way drivers seat, manual passenger seat to the 10 way drivers seat and 6 way passenger seat. Passenger side was plug & play, while the drivers seat was a bunch of fun wiring.

Waiting for a quote on the seats from a 2015 Taurus Limited (FL to NC freight). Aftermarket leather installation is so expensive that even with freight it may come out a lot cheaper. Plus a lot cheaper considering trading in / paying more insurance / paying more for ESP once the warranty runs out on a MKS or Taurus Limited.

Never got a quote after I called, emailed and asked on eBay. Weird!

Called today. Submitted eBay offers. Waiting for seller to wrap freight into eBay invoice so I can pay.

Paid for the seats. One follow up is whether they are sending the entire rear or not.

DIY fun ahead!

I just swapped the seats in my 2013 police Taurus for some nice leather ones out of a 2016 SEL. They were 100% plug and play. Unfortunately I don't get the heated seats, but everything else works perfectly. Additionally, they were the easiest seats I've ever swapped in a car. Four 13mm bolts and a quick disconnect wiring harness and that's it.

Good luck with your project!

Cool. I bought the 10-way seat which was memory. This may be an issue. I will probably either have to a) have someone bypass the wiring to the motors so nothing goes to the memory module or b) have the leather pulled from driver + passenger and installed on the current seats. Wait and see. Rear should be straightforward.

In my quest for seats, I think I saw memory seats... Aren't the memory buttons on the seat itself? If that's the case, the brains are probably built into the seats and hopefully you won't have issues. Let us know how it goes!

I've attached a photo of my setup. It makes the car feel luxurious now :-) Next on the agenda is carpet.

Cool. Not sure how many cable trees are needed. I only have one I could see so far. The issue with the memory module is that it needs wiring for the heating controls also. Limited trim 2016s have SYNC3 with a touchscreen that also controls seat heat.

Anyway: will know more once I get them. The seats arrived in NC today. Now I need to wait for the call to arrange delivery.

Delivered. Put in the rear. The passenger works but the airbag light stays on. I disconnected the negative battery lead first. Will take the passenger to an upholstery shop to have them swap the leather to the SE cloth seat. When they do a good job I will do the same with the driver.

My airbag light was on afterI installed my new seats (the car they were pulled from had been in a crash). I have a fancy Foxwell scanner that does SRS, and I was shown two B1193 codes (Crash event storage full). I was able to clear the codes with the scanner and they haven't returned.

Thank you for sharing that tip!

That may have been an option but since my car is under warranty I decided to transfer the leather and keep everything except the leather stock.

Plus I found an upholstery person who could fit me in. Waiting for the second seat to be finished right now.
