Connector Pigtail Part Number

Post by klrsmith » Tue Apr 23, 2019 6:57 am

Hi Guys,

I'm looking for the pigtail connector for the white colored Police Options 14 way connector, under the lower front bezel, right side (see attached). I've looked everywhere and can't seem to find this specific one. I need to tap the PIN 7 Dimmer for some radio equipment, and it would be much easier with the pigtail (and it's associated increase in length).

I already have the pigtail adapter for the 24-Way Front Power and 6-Way Front Power connectors (the grey colored plugs DG1T-14A313-AA) which works great.

Any ideas?

CU2Z-14S411-APA is the part you are looking for? Or the connector that plugs into it?

Hi,

I'm looking for the "pigtail adapter" for lack of a better word, that plugs into it, and has 14 wires coming out that can be tapped. Can't seem to find the option for this specific 14-way options connector.

The other two "Front Power" connectors have this "Inline Wire Harness" available, see this:

Looking thru the Motorcraft pigtail catalog, it's interesting that there appears to be no mating connector to the vehicle harness 14 pin connector.

I'm pretty sure I saw the part numbers in the Modifier guide for the car . I have a 2014 and the part number was there and I was able to find some on Ebay. I'll see if I can find it again.

Thanks PFFCO, let me know what you find.

I've got the modifiers guide (even looked in the later model year guides) and couldn't find it.

Hi Big_Eddy.

Yes, that white connector is the one that I can't find the pigtail adapter for.

The one for the front power (gray) connectors? DG1T-14A313-AA. I think I found that one on Ebay - here's a link to some other parts place; http://www.2040-parts.com/genuine-ford- ... -i1816450/

I'm looking for the one for the white police options connector... That one seems to be a bit harder to locate...

According to page 2-56 of the 2017 Sedan and Utility Modifier guide (Pigtail Information) you are looking for Service Pigtail # CU2Z-14S411-APA

That's the same pigtail part number shown on the original picture you posted. It's consistent across other model years. Is the issue that you can't locate that part, or that the part number listed represents something else?

Hi Big_Eddy,

Thanks for the info.

When I ordered part number CU2Z-14S411-APA, what I got was the same connector from the vehicle, the parts were the same gender and wouldn't mate, if that makes sense.

I ordered that part originally because I thought that CU2Z-14S411-APA was the correct part, sadly it's been frustrating trying to find the correct part to say the least (unless I got a mislabeled part somehow).

So
On page 2-30 of the 2015 guide (my year) https://madocumentupload.marketingassoc ... 9&v5=False the picture shows the same part number.
And on 2-43 in the pigtail list, it's repeated.

BUT
On 2-30 / 2-31 the table of connections lists 3U2Z- 14S411–APA

Could it be that CU2Z is the female and 3U2Z is the male?

Guessing - but best I have.

Great catch - it's certainly worth a try at this point - I found the 3U2Z- 14S411–APAA (yeah, extra A on the end) part on Tasca for $20. I'll let you know if it turns out to be the correct part, there was no picture for that part. If not, I'll just have to tap that dimmer cable the hard way (which means pulling my console out).

Thanks for all the help!

SOLVED -- Connector Pigtail Part Number

Post by klrsmith » Mon May 06, 2019 1:11 pm

Ok, while I believe CU2Z14S411APA is actually the correct part number according to everything I could find including info from Big_Eddy, I ordered that part twice and it didn't fit the connector... but I found a image of the package for that part on another forum showing WPT-1286.

So I ordered part WPT-1286 and it worked fine. It seems to me that there might be a packaging error on these freaking things - because the CU2Z14S411APA parts bag, also has WPT-1286 printed on it...

So, moral of this long nightmare is that the 14-Way police options pigtail is part number WPT-1286.
