2013 Police Interceptor - Bad transmission - compatible?

Post by Candle226 » Fri Sep 08, 2017 5:19 pm

:D Hello Everyone,
New to the forum, hope all are well. I have a 2013 Interceptor with a bad transmission. The engine is a 3.5L Non Turbo. Could anyone tell me what other years and transmissions could I put in their? Also what changes need to be made in order to do it? Thanks in advance for any info.

Be aware that your transmission may still be covered under the factory powertrain warranty. The warranty for the police interceptors is 5 years and I think 100,000 miles. The transmission in my 2013 was making a moaning/gear-whine noise when shifting into 5th and 6th gear. I brought it to a Ford dealer and took the service manager for a test drive and demonstrated the issue. He admitted it didn't sound right, and Ford installed a new transmission at no charge. I give kudos to Ford for standing behind their police interceptor powertrains.

Surprised they didnt burn you for a Police Interceptor being in civilian hands like Ford likes to do.

When the Police are done with them they sell them all the time to civilians.

I know. I am the previous owner of 2 CVPI's (A 1997 and 2006). However, Ford likes to give the retail customers guff when it comes to the Interceptors. For example, the steel wheel and paint issues on the CVPI's. They would replace the wheels or repaint the car if it was a police fleet car. If it was owned by a civilian, forget it. The repairs come out of your pocket.
