Winter tire size question 19"

Post by Steelblue » Sun Oct 01, 2017 9:02 pm

Hi. Was wondering if anyone is running a 245 55 19 tire on their Taurus? My limited OEM is 255 45 19. Wondering if the 245 55s will be OK. Wheel well clearance etc. Thanks!

25.4 millimeters = 1 inch. You’ll lose 10mm (0.4”) width, no problem there. Height, you’ll gain almost an inch, and it’ll throw off speed some. OEM = 255x.45 = 114.75mm. 245x.55= 134.75, a gain of 20mm, almost an inch. I believe it would fit though. Ask your dealer or shop to make sure.
