Brake caliper deal

Post by mmsstar » Sun Nov 12, 2017 9:18 am

I picked up a set of rotors and pads last month for my Flex from a Flex forum member. They are Brake Motive drilled & slotted. When I got them my plan was to just hang on to them until needed. After I got them last month both rear calipers took turns hanging up! I decided to shop around for calipers and found this deal. Got them for $164.75 with free shipping. Now they say when I send the cores back I will get a credit of $155  They even pay the return shipping  This is a heck of a deal for $10 These are the standard brakes, not the HD!

I'm a product manager in the automotive aftermarket, specifically in the braking category. Have not heard of that company, but it's a throw-back to how another caliper company made it big for awhile (Ohio Caliper in Cleveland). $164 for a reman is a decent deal. They are just cutting out the layers of distribution (40% for the warehouse, 40% for the parts store, + transportation up and down food chain).
Also, it may only be the caliper without the brackets. Confirm that bit. If you move forward, keep us posted on their performance.

The brackets did come with the calipers. I had them installed Tuesday. I also had their drilled & slotted rotors and ceramic pads put on as well. I got the rotors & pads from a member on the Flex forum who bought them but found they wouldn’t fit the bigger brakes on his ‘13 SEL Flex. I paid $100 for them picked up (he was asking $135 shipped.) The brakes do feel much better. I’ve sent the cores back and I’ll post what I get back.
Thanks

One of our members on the Flex forum found and ordered this deal. He said it’s $201 & change after the refund.
