Heater Core Coolant Leak 2002 Taurus

Post by TroubledTaurus » Sun Jun 03, 2018 12:03 am

The seal above the fire wall on the heater core is leaking coolant. Is there an easy (or cheap)way to repair it? A new heater core costs $1,000 with labor. The heater itself hasn't worked in a year but I'm not sure how to seal the leak. Any suggestions?

super easy to repair that gen heater core. drain coolant, pop both hoses in the engine bay (spring clamps), and then do some unbottoning of the interior dash.

for your first time, 2 maybe 2.5 hours and just the price of coolant/core (probably a 45 minute repair for many). total novice grade repair, almost no cost, and no special tools required
