This isn’t 100% OEM like you have linked, but this is what I retro modded in my 2013 Sedan. Basically used the same bezel they have and put in a 7 inch Sony screen. Thankfully found a plug and play harness and made some additional modifications to get power. Definitely not a perfect fit either but cost me less than $400. Let me know if you want more details and I can definitely help out.

One of the plugs on the Maestro harness above fits directly into the harness for the ACM in the Sedan. The box comes with instructions on what to cut to solder/attach the harness that comes with whatever stereo you decide to buy. Power was the only issue but was able to figure that by doing some minor extra wiring.

Thank you! I'll look into this, I have a spare universal double din radio that I'll try hooking up through this harness

I would recommend ordering the above as well. You can electric tape your hot and ground wire from your harness and run them through the cigarette lighter plug this way. I couldn’t get my radio to power through the factory harness for whatever reason. This was a decent fall back for me as I’m not very electrically proficient. Good luck

Thank for the response. That really helps. My ultimate goal was to mix and match the harness and face plate the link above with a fit kit from Idatalink to get an aftermarket radio in there. https://maestro.idatalink.com/accessori ... uct_id/945

What are your thoughts. Is this doable or am I crazy?

Thanks,

Also were you able to get the APIM(sync module) to connect to the radio control module(RCM)? And if so how? The APIM lives in the center console. My vehicle didn't come with sync or a center console. The wires and connectors are not physically in my car to make those connections.

Thanks,

Nathan Martin

I had no modules or anything used. The only 4 parts were the Maestro harness, the bezel, head unit, and the 12 volt adapter for power. Getting sync can get very time consuming and costly, and this was comparable for my needs. My car doesn’t have the basic Sync either, so this was a huge improvement. The harness has an option for an idatalink connection, but I didn’t want to spend the extra $200+ just to get steering wheel functionality. You can try that bracket you linked, but there really isn’t anything official for Tauruses of this body style unfortunately. Good luck

Thanks for the info. I guess my only questions are: where did you get the 8" touch screen? Is it Ford OEM? If it is ford OEM how did you use the idatalink harness to connect it? Where did you get the connector to connect it to the 8" screen? Again thank you for replying to my questions. Big help.

Thanks,

Nate.

This setup has 0 SYNC involvement. Really the only thing "OEM" about this whole setup is the bezel. The Maestro harness plugs directly into the ACM cable (no modification necessary), and all you have to do is match the wires on the Maestro harness with the wire harness that comes with with the head unit. This screen is part of a 7" Sony head unit I got at Best Buy (Model XAVAX3000).
